Come Heller high water … the April 25th edition

Come Heller high water…

  • I know it’s mean, but the footage of Melania twice refusing to hold The Donald’s hand cracks me up. That is one ticked off woman. Can you blame her?
  • You can tell Trump is not comfortable with that European kiss on the cheek thing, can’t you? You could see him thinking, “Do I actually kiss his cheek or just air-kiss it.”
  • I’m obviously no Trump fan, but it’s not fair (and bad journalism) for CNN, MSNBC and others to keep giving Stormy Daniels’ lawyer air time. How they gonna feel if it turns out she’s lying?
  • Loved this one by Conan: “White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson has been accused of drinking on the job. Today, Jackson defended himself saying, ‘You’d drink too if you saw Donald Trump naked.’”
  • I can always smell the aroma of consultants when it comes to media. What they’ve ruined most recently are sports highlight shows, which now, as if by law, have to include loud, thumping music during highlights, loud, obnoxious ex-jocks hee-hawing about the highlights, female hosts inexplicably wearing nightclub dresses wandering around cavernous sets while they introduce the highlights, and fake miniature sports fields where even more ex-jocks explain various jock techniques that we really didn’t need to know or care about. All that, and yet I just wanna know who won the Tigers game. I’m not anti-internet, but I sure do miss TV, radio and newspapers the way they used to be. Am I the only one?
  • I’m still steaming about the state giving away groundwater to Nestle for its Ice Mountain brand (which I’ll never buy again) while cutting off bottled water for Flint. A meme about Nestle popped up on my Facebook that quoted former CEO Peter Brabeck-Letmathe saying water isn’t a human right. But did he really say that? I consulted my favorite meme-busting site, Snopes, for an answer, and it said no. But what he did say was maybe even worse. In a 2005 documentary, he said: “Water is, of course, the most important raw material we have today in the world. It’s a question of whether we should privatize the normal water supply for the population. And there are two different opinions on the matter. The one opinion, which I think is extreme, is represented by the NGOs, who bang on about declaring water a public right. That means that as a human being you should have a right to water. That’s an extreme solution. The other view says that water is a foodstuff like any other, and like any other foodstuff it should have a market value. Personally, I believe it’s better to give a foodstuff a value so that we’re all aware it has its price.” Now I hate Nestle even more.
  • A new state law requires motorists to treat darkened traffic signals as 4-way stops. Wait, that wasn’t a law already?
  • I told you months ago that I’d noticed a few people adding the word “right?” to the end of sentences, as if to cement your agreement in advance with what they said. Now everybody does it, right? And it’s annoying, right? Of course it is, right? So why do we keep doing it?
  • A verbal tic I’m trying to vanquish is saying “tuh” instead of to. A lot of people do this and once you notice, you can’t stop noticing. At least I can’t. I find myself – out loud – correcting people on TV who do it, which annoys the heck out of the lovely yet formidable Marcia, who usually tries to annoy me back by saying “Are you going tuh stop that?” She’s a bit of a wiseacre.
  • Remember that “Saturday Night Live” recurring skit “Deep Thoughts”? If it were still around, I’d submit “How did beef ever become a word for cow? Or pork for pig? Or venison for deer? Are we squeamish and can’t call things what they are? If so, why do we still call chicken chicken?”
  • Speaking of which, the older I get the less meat I eat. Why, I’m not sure. I’ve always liked tofu as an alternative, though. I think I’m one of the few who don’t mind the stuff. It’s such a neutral taste, it really just ends up tasting like the sauce you put on it. Another meat alternative I tried this year is Beyond Meat, which actually tastes (more or less) like chicken and ground beef. I found it in Meijer, so it’s pretty available. You’re welcome.

Right? Has been around for a long time, and yes, irritating, but…

The new (?) trend of staring sentences with the word So is maddening. It seems to be done more by younger news reporters and commentators, especially women. Just listen to NPR for a while. Once you hear it, it will drive you nuts.

“What is driving the resurgence in the sale of cheeseburgers”

“So, according to McDonalds CEO Steve Easterbrook…”

    Etc, etc.

I can’t stand the “So” at the beginning of ever sentence. NPR has many violators on this issue.

Stormy Daniels is one of the current leaders of the Democrat party. The fact that she has zero proof for her BS claims does not matter to lying, liberal, hack, “journalists”. The only thing that matters is attacking President Trump.

The left has no journalistic integrity any more.

According to various news agencies President Trump did not pay the woman the $130,000.00. The lawyer paid Stormy Daniels out the lawyer’s personal fund.
Plus she says that President trump did not sign the non-disclosure agreement, therefore she is entitled to more money.
Stormy signed the agreement, she now wants the courts to nullify the agreement that she signed so she can extort more money from President Trump.
Stormy’s alledged fling with Donald Trump supposedly happened back in 2002.
Long before he ran for office.
Democrats are the party of a person’s past sexual history does not matter, unless it is a republican running for office. Then any sexual indiscrestions are open for debate.
slick willey’s sexual activities did not matter to being president. President Trump’s past sexual history to democrats to matter to them.

You really stick up for that for that pig that treats women like they are dogs and lies through his teeth about everything? He’s a proven liar so you must be too. The guy lied his way to get elected. Take the blinders off and think about it. The guy is a looser. He’s done nothing but screwed this country up worse than it ever was.

Screwed up this country? Let’s see a few companies are returning their operations to America. Passed a tax cut that gave the average American about $1,000.00 of their tax money back.
Wait a minute, I forgot that democrats think that American citizens should be glad to pay so much in taxes. Fact is that democrats, like bernie sanders, think that American citizens should sign their paycheck over to the government, then the goverment (ie.. democrats/socialists/ liberals) will determine how much they need to survive on and the rest goes to the government. Of course such a law will not apply to certain liberals/democrats/socialists.
The unemployment level is down. Illegal immigration is being addressed.
Oh, I think that those of you who are for illegal immigration should be reqired to house, feed and otherwise have the illegal immigrants in their own home.

In your words a few companies. I am paying more taxes then ever. Let’s see my wife got a six dollar increase in her pay check an inflation ate that up ten fold. Why do you republican lemurs want to follow an idiot off a cliff. Unemployment was going down long before the liar took office and you know it. Wake up and face reality. The world is laughing at you. The idiot is puckering up to kiss foreign leaders on the cheek. The guy is a complete dumbass and you defend that? Are you as stupid?

A question regarding Flint…. Why didn’t Flint replace their lead pipes in the municipal water infrastructure back in the 60s/70s/80s like virtually every other municipality? Why did the Democrat run Flint leave lead pipes in the ground?

You couldn’t be more wrong about lead pipe replacements decades ago. In Grand Rapids … as of December 2017, “Jernberg estimated that about 18,000 to 20,000 of the publicly owned water lines in Grand Rapids are made of lead, out of the 64,000 customers in the city.” A study by the American Water Works Association says – “… there are 460,000 lead service lines in Michigan in 2016; more than almost any other state. http://michiganradio.org/post/where-are-lead-water-pipes-michigan-here-s-our-best-guess

Flint had TONS of money decades ago when other communities were removing lead pipes. If you think the affluence of Flint circa 2018 is the same as Flint circa 1965, you are a total idiot. Communities have been removing lead pipes since just after WWII. Lead pipes were first identified as problematic to water quality in the 1920s.

Flint Democrats had the money. They did not bother changing pipes because they didn’t give a sh&t.

Flint is hardly the worst hit for poor quality municipal water. There are literally 3800+ localities in the USA with worse lead levels than Flint.

Tuh. Mr. Obama used to say it constantly. I emailed him about it. Fer, instead of FOR: A friend told me to quit saying “fer” years ago. And, speaking of people who speak on NPR, have you noticed how many start their answers with, “I mean…?” Even when they are not asked what they mean. “How are you?” – “I meeeeean, I feel good.”

    2. Stormy may have a blue dress with proof on it. Know what I meeeean? And, Stormy is not the only one. Daddy, you would be smart to stop defending Mr. Trump. I meeeeeean, pull in your horns, and see how this plays out. Just wait a few weeks. No need to put yourself on the line for your supposed pal Trump.

Yeah! That’s the ticket! Trump and many of his minions and Working Dad and Jimmie III all believe they can say anything, whether it is true or false. As long as they say it or write it in a confident or bombastic tone, they believe it’s okay. Even when they know it’s not true. And! They get all huffy when we do not believe it.
